HSE

Safety is the licence to operate

IMS runs a practical HSE system built for remote sites: clear standards, visible leadership, and the authority for any person to stop unsafe work.

Standards & accountabilityTraining & competenceField leadership

Our management system aligns with international expectations for risk assessment, incident learning, and emergency readiness. Supervisors conduct pre-task briefings; hazards are logged and closed; lessons are shared across projects so the same mistake is not repeated on the next shift.

Contractors and visitors are onboarded to the same rules as IMS employees — PPE, traffic management, and isolation procedures are non-negotiable. We coordinate closely with mine owners on integrated drills, medical evacuation plans, and environmental controls tied to each work front.

Environmental stewardship is embedded in how we plan earthworks, manage fuels and lubricants, and rehabilitate disturbed areas where the scope requires it. We track incidents and near-misses transparently with clients and adjust programmes when indicators trend the wrong way.

Performance focus

How we sustain HSE performance over time

At site level, HSE performance is managed as an operating discipline. Daily field interactions, planned inspections, action tracking, competency checks, equipment controls, and client reporting form one connected assurance cycle. This gives project leaders a current view of exposure and helps teams intervene before a weak signal becomes an incident.

Performance focus

How we sustain HSE performance over time

Leading indicators

We track frontline observations, corrective closure rates, and toolbox quality before lagging incidents occur.

Contractor integration

Partner crews follow the same induction, permit-to-work, and reporting standards as IMS teams.

Emergency readiness

Site-specific drills, response roles, and communication protocols are tested and updated with clients.

System assurance

How IMS verifies HSE maturity on active sites

Independent checks

Routine inspections and leadership tours verify that controls are applied beyond paperwork.

Action closure discipline

Findings are assigned to accountable owners with tracked deadlines and escalation for overdue items.

Learning integration

Incident and near-miss trends are converted into updated standards, training refreshers, and toolbox content.
